Money Money Money

Today, summarized in one word, was
DYNAMITE.

Let’s see. I went to the zoo, ate prata, and got 200 dollars for EAGLES award. I woke up from my evening nap-don’t question, I was bloody tired after the zoo-to an envelope telling me I’d be getting money. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Of course, in true sisterly fashion, my sisters took one look at the envelope, and yelled:

“TREAT!”

I’m actually not minding that this time, seeing I have money:DDDDD I’m kinda proud of myself for earning this too. Yay me.

Krabi in three days WHEEEEEE!

What’s left for Singapore Idol now, seeing that Tabitha, arguably the greatest talent the show has seen in all three seasons, has been eliminated? No doubt we are now down to the Grand Finals, but how can it be justified that in a singing competition, the one with one of the best vocal abilities does not make it to the finals?

Aargh I am so angry I could kill someone! I was always hoping for an all-female final, seeing that we’ve never had that in Idol history, but also because it was evident from the start that the women had the stronger vocals than the men, no doubt about that. Then people like Mae and Malaque started going out, until there were only two females left. Who wouldn’t fear for them, right? But then they battled the odds and both managed to make it to the top 3. And now this happens.

How could anyone pick Sezairi over Tabitha; is Singapore deaf? Sezairi is nowhere as strong as either girl vocally, and though he may be unique, this is a singing competition, not Singapore’s Most Unique. Besides, did anyone listen to him yesterday? He was almost completely out of tune for both songs. Florence may think she had exellent song choices for him, but he just killed Michael Buble’s Haven’t Met You Yet. (I hope Mr Buble never gets to hear it.) How can Florence say he’s so “likable” when all anyone feels like doing upon seeing his smirk is slapping him?

Does Singapore want a pimply, smug, overly confident, seemingly malnourished guy to be their Singapore Idol? I know I don’t.

Went job hunting again today, and it was kind of a breakthrough cos Ben&Jerry’s confirmed that they were hiring, part-time. Too bad they ran out of application forms and I had to go download the application myself. And I somehow can’t find it. Well I guess I’ll call them again to hound them. (They’re probably sick of hearing my voice now.)

On the whole my day was pretty good though, cos my hot skater was still there in Novena Square!!:DDDDDD So you can imagine if I work in United Square, I can run over to Novena Square everyday to see him until December is over!He has dark brown hair, blue eyes and a really killer smile. Plus he was helping some little kids balance on the ice just now, and letting them put ice in his hair. Can’t deny that I want to be the little kids):

An update on the past week or so.

Tuesday to Thursday, 24/11-26/11
Went to Marianne’s place for our sleepover those three days, and had a ball of fun. Basically we ate a lot-think fajitas and lasagna at Simpang, bacon, toast and eggs for breakfast, pasta carbonara, one big bag of tortilla chips, microwave pizza, and beef chilli cheese fries from Carl’s Jr- and watched a lot of movies. The Aristocats, The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning, Never Back Down, White Chicks, Stardust, Peter Pan, and Wild Child, amongst others. We watched so many, I can hardly keep track. Of course, we stayed up and gossiped until about two am each night, but neither of us was short on sleep because we woke up at eight or later the following mornings. We were supposed to travel down to Raffles City to eat tempura on Wednesday too, but sheer laziness got the better of us and we stayed at home instead. Then to make up for not moving our lazy asses we went swimming. Okay, Mare went swimming. I went tanning.

On my third day there we went exploring Tampines, went walking around Tampines One and Tampines Mall. (They both look the same, seriously.) Walked around random stores, ate at Carl’s Jr, and I bought my planner:D super love it; it’s lime green-ish with some circly design all over it and it’s a day to a page! Exactly what I wanted. Roughly uneventful shopping that day, except that when we were done I realised I’d spent a bomb the past 3 days o.o And everyone must know about what happened on our way home to Tanah Merah.

1) Mare and I spot a teenage couple in the train hugging like their lives depend on it. I start complaining to her the moment the train doors open at Tanah Merah and we get out.
2) We tap our cards to get out of the station and get on the escalator, still discussing the merits of PDA.
3) Suddenly we look down and see a middle-aged couple a few steps down the escalator from us. The husband is standing one step down from the wife. (Please note that neither half of the couple are particularly attractive.)
4) Husband turns his face up to wife; wife kisses him. I frown slightly. We start to smirk.
5) Husband repeats actions five times. By this time, Mare and I struggle to contain our laughter.
6) I chant quietly, “Please turn left, please turn left” in hopes that the couple will turn left and not go the same way as Mare and I so that we can laugh freely.
7)Couple turns left, holding hands as they step off the escalator, Mare and I jump off the escalator right after them, and manage to take a grand total of three steps before bursting into peals of laughter.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what PDAing couples does to you. Ok, she and I reached consensus on this thing about PDA: It’s really gross when you see someone else doing it, but you think it’s fine when you do it. I don’t know why, really.

Anyway when I got home that day Bopsy had cooked up spaghetti and meatballs and made me a happy girl(:

Friday, 27/11
I was planning to go job hunting that day, but seeing it was a public holiday, I put that idea off. Instead, the whole family went out to breakfast with Ethan and Auntie J, which eventually led to us going shopping at Orchard, save Jiema. Even though the shopping trip was completely unproductive-for me-Ethan kept us plenty entertained, and I managed to pop into a couple of stores to see if they had any job vacancies. I nearly got one at The Body Shop, but then it turned out that they only hired employees aged 17 and above. (Curses.) And to top everything that was good off that day, check this out.

There was this fucking hot skater on this temporary skating rink that had been set up in Novena Square. You know, for people to get into the Christmas spirit:D but who cares about that man. The skater was so hot, the ice from the rink was practically melting around his blades. I first noticed him when he was doing his warmups for the show-I was bored since Bopsy was in Levi’s trying jeans so I wandered out of the shop into the atrium- and when I got a full view of his face I immediately ran back into the shop to tell Bopsy all about it:D Later the skaters put on a show, so the 4 of us stopped to watch, but my parents got bored after about a couple of minutes.

Daddy: “Do you girls want to watch or shop?”

Us(without hesitation): “WATCH!”

So they left us alone and went to Esprit.
Later when the show was over there was a phototaking session, so Bopsy came up with the most genius idea of taking a photo with the hot skater and at the same time, conveniently getting his number. I pooh-poohed that; eye candy is eye candy and should remain eye candy. After we found our parents we-or should I say myself only- started telling them about how hot the skater was and all, and Daddy has a revelation:

Daddy: “So THAT’S why you both wanted to watch!”

Well duh.
We went home, myself a happy Mrs Nadal, bouncing on the road and all. I didn’t even mind those disgusting smokers behind, I was just so happy:DDDDD

Saturday, 28/11
Typical Saturday- my aunt came over, we went for our morning walk, went for brunch. What wasn’t so typical was getting caught in the rain on the way home from brunch-yes, we walked there cos when we set off it was damn bloody hot- and having fun despite getting drenched. Because I was the only one lazy enough to not bring my phone and wallet, I ended up the only one having only myself wet. Smart no? :D D After that we settled down to do our own stuff and I wound up watching an old Baywatch movie on Channel 5 because I like David Hasselhoff(: Pam Anderson’s boobs are really distracting though. I bet she can’t see her feet at all.

Later at night, I started poring through the book on cats that Bopsy gave me for my 15th, and I came across a picture of a Persian kitten.
Me: “Eh, Bopsy, look!”

Bopsy: “Don’t show me, I hate cats-”

(She peers over at the picture)

Bopsy: “-Awww that’s damn cute!”

And later she said the cat looks like me when I was young cos it’s just this furball=.=” I have apparently been complimented.

Day ended well, cos United beat Portsmouth 4-1.

Sunday, 29/11
Because I slept close to two the night before, I got up at 1115 that morning. (You see, I’ve deduced this theory. On the occasions that I don’t sleep with my phone next to me, I tend to wake up past 11. That is due to the fact that when I wake up earlier in the morning, say around eight, I am too lazy to get outta bed to check what time it is on my phone, and hence I go back to sleep and wake up supremely late. When I do sleep with my phone, I can check it the moment I get up, and hence I get up promptly because I know it’s whatever time it is and it’s time to get outta bed. See, I’m a complete genius.)

I was supposed to go out with Tingkenstein today, but since I had to visit my uncle who just came out of hospital, the outing was postponed-thanks for understanding, Ting:D So all of us went all the way to Changi to visit him, along with TJ’s family, and the gathering felt like CNY all over again, in a kinda good way. The good news is that my uncle seems perfectly fine, apart from his gait, which seems somewhat awkward for him now, but I’m almost certain he’ll make a full recovery. I’m only a little miffed at the fact that when we were leaving, he gripped my arm and went, “I think you’re the heaviest out of the three, aren’t you?”

Gee, thanks so much for pointing out the obvious.

After the visit, we went out to dinner at Pizza Hut with TJ and his dad, and had quite a bit of fun. TJ was the ultimate vainpot that day, having just gotten his contacts fitted, and he was doing all sorts of things to his face that he wouldn’t be able to do had he worn his specs. Like this:
“I can put my face over the hot plate in Pepper Lunch and not have my glasses fogged up!”

So to that we said:
“Yeah, and your lenses will MELT instead.”

He’s such a vainpot. Ahwell. He then asked me why I didn’t consider myself vain since I got contacts myself. I told him I’m a girl so I’m supposed to be vain. Ah, one of the (few) perks of being female.

Like I said, we wound up at Pizza Hut and I somehow ended up switching the restroom light off when someone was inside using it haha:DD genius right?  It happened because I was dying to use the restroom and I pulled on the door, but it wouldn’t budge, so I assumed the switch on the adjacent wall was to unlock the door. It was only after the door still didn’t unlock did I realise I just switched the light off for the poor innocent man peeing inside:D so quickly I went back to my seat and hid my face when he walked past our table. Luckily he’ll never know who I am.

After pizza we sent Jiema home-the girl was adamant about studying-and headed back to TJ’s place for the rest of the evening. I read The Time Traveler’s Wife while Bopsy fiddled with TJ’s guitar and TJ checked some mail, then right after he was done checking mail he looked at me and went, “Stop reading and do something productive! Like learning how to play Xbox!”

=.=”"”"”"”"

So it ended up with the two idiots playing Fifa while I watched on, and subsequently resumed reading the book in front of the TV.

Random fact: Xbox controllers make a lot less noise than Playstation ones.

Monday, 30/11
Jab day was today, and it wasn’t as though we were looking forward to it with trepidation. In fact, Bopsy and I were making bets as to who would start crying first. (I hate needles with a vengeance so I guess Bopsy was making that bet with an upper hand.) Left the house just after noon, bussed down to Balestier for lunch, and went for the jab. It wasn’t that bad, I guess, but kind of more painful than expected. When the needle’s stuck in it doesn’t hurt, but pulling out the needle hurt like crap. And my left arm just started feeling sort of numb and heavy. And even though I initially thought the worst was over, I got informed that this was the first jab out of three.

SAMINAKAPALA.

On the bright side there were many extremely adorable newborns in the hospital, and seeing them made Bopsy and I start gushing about how cute they were:DD Also, Bopsy and I got high in the waiting room and were laughing like nobody’s business. I think there must have been laughing gas in the air.

SODDYTHING YOU LIL FUCKER

Just a quick post and it’s off to bed cos I’m annoyed.

SODERLING FUCKING BEAT BABY AGAIN AND I AM FUCKING PISSED OFF.

What will tomorrow bring???

November 23, 2009. Baby., Little fucktards.. Leave a comment.

Sleepover at Marianne’s tomorrow and I. Absolutely. Cannot. Wait.
Two-three days of just us hanging around the east and exploring.
And no one in the world able to tell us what we can’t do, cos we can do anything!

My sisters are both sick hence tomorrow before I leave for said sleepover I have to buy lunch for them. Thus the two of them love me very much right now:D Bopsy’s also taking my bed just in case she has to run to the toilet in the middle of the night to throw up, so that she doesn’t have to concentrate on climbing down a ladder en route to the toilet. I even gave her my Rafael so that she’d feel better.

See, I’m such a good sister:D
Although I’m not guilty enough to abandon my sleepover plans to take care of them. They’re so old, they can take care of themselves!

Wednesday’ll be the first time Bopsy and I watch Singapore Idol separately though. It’s become almost tradition to watch together. Every monday and tuesday it’s a habit for us to turn to each other and exclaim “Wednesday/Tomorrow got Singapore Idol!” like two die-hard fans who spend all their pocket money and more voting so that their favourite idols will stay in the competition- whom we’re so not.

Thanks to Bopsy (again) I managed to catch The Amazing Race at 6 just in time. This season I’m supporting Sam and Dan-yeah you know, those gay brothers- due to superficial reasons like they’re the best eye candy in the entire show(or what’s left of it. I only started watching like three episodes ago where there were only five teams remaining so there wasn’t much to choose from.)

I won’t say Sam and Dan are the most sporting team or the most deserving team, but it’s entertaining when they argue and even more so when they clash with the other teams. Just when I thought they made Flight Time and Big Easy their rivals last episode, they stole Brian and Ericka’s cab this episode. And they didn’t even feel guilty about it! Instead Sam was going on about how it was a “smart move”. Tsk tsk.

OK, mean as it was, they did it to stay ahead of the other teams cos they knew they had a chance of being eliminated. And isn’t that what the race is all about? I guess it’s either morals or winning. Honestly, if I were them, I’d pick winning. My competitive side always triumphs over my conscience I guess.

Ah Baby’s playing Soddything now and he’s a set down:( ah well shan’t be negative he’s got me watching now and that’s all he really needs…he really can’t afford to lose this even though it’s a round robin match. People are still talking about his loss to Soddything at the French; what would happen if he lost this as well? Shit. Baby should really stop wearing sleeves. It’s just giving him really bad luck.

And just to remind him how good he looked and how well he played when he went sleeveless…

Wimbledon, 2006. He made it to the finals.
